Safe

I had a better look at the two paintings. They were not paintings, but photographs of Italian town buildings. They captured the idyllic country life quite vividly, and I could almost feel the sun on my skin and the breeze through my hair, if it weren't for the slight needle sting on my right arm. This second blood sample was a crucial one: if the platelet count is found higher than the one on Saturday, then it means I'm getting better. The doctor said, with a smile, that further blood tests will be conducted until there are signs that my platelet count is rising. Sounds sadistic.

The call came around noon. I was told that my platelet count increased by three points and that I should drink lots of water and rest more. I'm safe. Phew.
